We're almost at that time of the year, the time when we hang up our summer dresses and bring out the fall sweaters. Yes, yes fun in the sun is almost done, so it's best to be prepared for the change. There's less humidity in the air, so you're bound to feel a little drier, a little colder, so here are some tips to keep your gorgeous skin glowing!

  • Always drink water! Drinking water helps you hydrate yourself from within and removes those dirty, nasty toxins!

  • Try a sauna! A sauna promotes sweating and sweating opens up your pores and gets out the grimy residue deep down inside the pore. No access to a sauna, no problem! Just turn on the hot water in your shower, let it run for 15 minutes, close your door, turn off the water and enjoy the steam!

  • Replace your shower gels for more luxurious and more gentle soaps. It's already cold and dry outside, you don't need the soap from your summer shower gel to dry you out even more!

  • On this note, make sure you moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Replace your lotions for creams. Dry air=dry skin, so you need to prevent drying out. If you want more of a moisturizing kick, try the Nars Monoi de Tahiti Oil, after your shower. Make sure you're a little moist to get the most out of it and rub it in.

  • Just because you're not out sun bathing, doesn't mean you stop protecting your skin from the sun. ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS wear sunscreen!

  • Try analyzing how your skin changes while the seasons change. You might find that your oily skin during summer will behave normal during the fall and winter and that your normal skin during the summer, will behave dry in the coming months.

  • Organize your skincare routine! Remember to exfoliate twice weekly to slough off dead skin cells and try doing a mask once a week. Just choose the days you'll be doing these and make sure to set it up that way every week so, you don't forget!

  • Prevent dry, cracked, chapped lips! Use a moisturizing lip balm that protects from the sun as well! I recommend Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and their new Rose Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15, $22 each.

  • Don't forget about your hands and your feet. During the colder months, you're bound to let your feet turn to stone because they won't be on display as much and the cuticles tend to turn VERY dry. Get a foot scrub, leave it in the shower, and treat your feet everytime you're bathing! As for your hands, get a heavy duty hand cream to prevent your cuticles from turning rough and dry. Invest in a cuticle oil as well!
Be prepared for the Fall & Winter! Hope these help!
