I was excited to see a sulfur mask in a drug store and I was even more excited to try it. Sulfur dries out the bacteria in acne until it's gone! It's always nice to see masks with other ingredients because a multi-tasking product is always a great thing.

The AcneFree Therapeutic Sulfur Mask has Vitamin C and Copper Extract to minimize the appearance of pores and to improve the skin's texture. Vitamin C also lightens skin's discolorations, tightens pores, and brighten's the skin's appearance. This Sulfur Mask also exfoliates the skin! The small blue beads are duel purpose, they exfoliate the skin and then turn the mask a light shade of blue to signal you that you don't have to massage it into your skin anymore. One problem I had that with this mask is that it does smell like sulfur, it's not so bad, I've smelled other sulfur products but the smell is there--so you're warned!

I also experienced a tingling sensation, this is normal, however if you have sensitive skin I'd suggest using the the mask for 5 minutes instead of 10 like the packaging suggests. After you massage it into the skin it dries real fast, you can feel the mask tightening your skin and again this is normal. After you're done just wash off and take a look at your skin--it does look more bright!

It reminds me a lot of the DermaDoctor sulfur mask I reviewed before but if you can't afford the DermaDoctor mask, which runs at $45, this is a great alternative (it's about $7.00--and even cheaper on the internet).

My Take On It:
Packaging: 3 out of 5- and I only say this because the Sulfur Mask from DermaDoctor has a great dispenser that allows you to get the perfect amount of the mask, while this one comes in a tube--and you'll probably squeeze more than you need.

Efficiency: 5 out of 5- it works! It diminished the appearance of my little bumps, tightened up my pores (or minimized the appearance of them), and it definitely brightened up my complexion!

Price: 5 out of 5- $7.00?! That's GREAT! you get 1.7 ounces of product and believe me a little goes a long way, so it'll last forever!

Buy Again?: Absolutely! Good price and it works! Why wouldn't I buy it again?!

Hope this helps!

  1. Ok, So after searching every store downtown Brooklyn, n every store in Est NY. I finally found the mask at Walgreens. I only paid $5, which is pretty cheap compared to prices I've seen. I must say the product is worth buying. The sulfur mask works the moment you apply it to your skin. Yes of corse your gonna feel a tingly feelin while your applying it to the areas that may need attention but its ok. The only thing about using the product is you'll may smell the sulfur after its washed off. But overall I give the product 5 crowns
